Proximity Synergy

A Dispensary and a Smoke Shop attract related customers, so placing them close together brings extra traffic to both.

When the bonus applies

All of the following must be true:

  • One store is a Dispensary and the other a Smoke Shop. Two Dispensaries, or two Smoke Shops, do nothing for each other.
  • Both are in the same district. A partner across a district boundary does not count, even if the walk is short.
  • They are close enough to walk between: their nearest entrances are within about 70 meters, roughly a block or less.
  • Both are open for business. A store set to Temporarily closed in the Business app neither gives nor receives the bonus until it reopens.

How big it is

Stores under the same owner receive a stronger bonus than a pair owned by different people, because one owner can promote both: about 10% more customers per hour, against about 5% for a pair with different owners. AI-owned stores count as partners too.

Each store receives one bonus at most. Surrounding a Smoke Shop with several Dispensaries adds nothing beyond the first qualifying partner, so this rewards a sensible second location rather than a cluster.

Planning with it

Think of it as a location-planning decision: when you scout a second store, a nearby complementary business in the same district is worth more than the same building a district away.

An optional feature

Proximity Synergy is one of High Ambitions' optional features. If another mod changes the same part of the game, High Ambitions may switch it off for the session and tell you with a notice; your stores then trade normally without the extra customers. See Troubleshooting and compatibility.
