About BitFlip Mods

BitFlip Mods is one person's workshop for game modifications and the small tools that make them possible. It is the umbrella the individual projects live under, so a fix or a lesson learned in one mod is available to the next.

The name

A bit is the smallest unit of state a program has. Flip one and the behaviour can change completely - which is a fair description of modding: you are not writing the game, you are changing what it decides to do.

How releases work

Each project page lists its current version and the game build it was tested against. When a game updates, the mods are re-checked against the new build before that number changes. If a mod has not been verified on the newest build yet, the page says so rather than implying it has.

How support works

Support is deliberately private. There is no account to create, no public bug tracker and no forum to search through. You describe the problem, optionally attach a diagnostic bundle, and receive a private link to your own ticket. Only you and I can read it.

Diagnostic bundles are produced by the mods themselves and are anonymised before they are written. What happens to them here is set out on the privacy page, including how long the files are kept.

Compatibility and other people's mods

These mods are independent projects. They are not affiliated with or endorsed by the developers of the games they modify, and compatibility with other authors' mods is only claimed where it has actually been tested.

Both scripts are deferred, so the settings file below runs first and has set window.goatcounter.referrer before count.js reads it. #}
