Support

A support bundle is a small ZIP that BusinessBridge writes on your own machine when you ask it to. It is not sent anywhere automatically — you choose whether to attach it here.

Why it helps

Nearly every BusinessBridge problem comes down to a handful of facts: which versions are involved, whether the registration succeeded, and what the game's template cache looked like at the time. The bundle carries all of that. Attaching one usually replaces a back-and-forth of five or six questions, so it is strongly recommended for any BusinessBridge issue.

How to create one

1. In Big Ambitions, open Settings → Mods → BusinessBridge.
2. Use the support bundle button there. BusinessBridge writes the ZIP and tells you where it went.
3. If the problem involves the game itself rather than just BusinessBridge, switch on Include sanitized Player.log first, then create the bundle.

You can create a bundle from the main menu as well as from inside a city. Doing it while the affected save is loaded gives us more to work with.

Where the file is saved

The bundle is created in your Documents folder:

Documents\Big Ambitions\BusinessBridge Support\

and is named with the date and time it was made:

BusinessBridge-Support-20260916-1200.zip

If that folder cannot be written — OneDrive redirection or Controlled Folder Access, for example — BusinessBridge falls back to the game's own data folder and says so in the message. A bundle saved there may make Windows show a “these files might be harmful” notice when you open it; that is a Windows label on the folder, not a problem with the file.

What is inside

• readme.txt — what the bundle is, in plain words
• businessbridge.log — BusinessBridge's own log for that run
• environment.json — mod and game versions, Unity, operating system, which mods you have loaded
• registrations.json — which custom businesses registered, with their layouts and templates
• cache-state.json — how many AI business templates are loaded, and which of them BusinessBridge added
• recent-events.jsonl — the last few hundred BusinessBridge events
• player-log-sanitized.log — only if you switched that option on

What it does not contain

BusinessBridge anonymises the bundle as it writes it, then scans every file again before zipping: your Windows user name, computer name, Steam id, save names and character ids, your world seed and full file paths are replaced with placeholders. If that final scan finds anything it should not, no bundle is created at all.

Names of AI businesses, street addresses, districts and layout names are included — they come from the game and the mods rather than from you, and they are what a problem gets diagnosed from. Treat a bundle as information about your game and system, and if you would rather not send one, submit the ticket without it and describe what happened.
